Your course and exam preparation
Paper 1 covers Christianity and Buddhism. Paper 2 covers Religion and life (B), The existence of God and revelation (C), Religion, crime and punishment (E), and Religion, human rights and social justice (F). Each paper lasts 1 hour 45 minutes. There is no Foundation/Higher split. RS1–RS8 are this site's identifiers.
For current exams, practise short knowledge answers, contrasting views, explanations supported by a source, and extended evaluations. Use the question's wording and current AQA sample papers: assessment materials were updated for exams from 2026. Each section now uses 1, 1, 4, 6 and 12-mark questions. In the 6-mark explanation, identify a relevant source and explain how it supports the teaching; naming a text alone is insufficient. Read AQA’s exam-format update. A quick quiz score does not assess an extended argument.
Explain a belief, give its reason or source, then show its influence on conduct. In evaluation, address a serious opposing view and justify your conclusion. Theme C explicitly compares Christianity with non-religious views on visions, miracles and nature as revelation; the other selected themes include Christian and Buddhist contrasts.
